Veloforge LLC ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application, our website at veloforgeapp.com (including waitlist and marketing pages), and related services (collectively, the "Service").
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Information We Collect
Account Information:
- Email address and, if you use email/password sign-up, a password (stored securely by our authentication provider)
- If you use Sign in with Apple, Apple may share your name and email with us (or a private relay email address you choose). We store the account identifier and contact information Apple provides so you can sign in and we can support your account.
Website & Waitlist:
If you join our email waitlist or interact with our website, we collect the information you submit (such as your email address) and standard web analytics as described below.
Onboarding Information (All Users):
During initial setup, we collect the following information from all users:
- Basic Profile: First name, last name, date of birth, height, and weight
- Body Composition: Body fat percentage (optional)
- Preferences: Unit system preference (imperial or metric)
- Nutrition Preferences: Nutrition goals (lose weight, gain weight, maintain, or body recomposition), activity level, target weight, and weekly check-in day preference
- Strength Training Profile: Experience level, training days per week, gym access, home equipment available (dumbbells, barbell, pull-up bar, resistance bands, bench, rack), preferred workout duration, and estimated one-rep max values for major lifts
Additional Onboarding Information (Baseball Players Only):
If you indicate that you are a baseball player during onboarding, we collect additional information to personalize your training program:
- Player Profile: Player type (pitcher only, hitter only, or two-way), throwing hand (left or right), playing level (middle school, high school, college, professional), and whether you participate in multiple sports
- Throwing Preferences: Throwing program mode (smart/automated or manual planning)
- Throwing Data: Arm readiness status, peak mound velocity, maximum long toss distance, innings pitched in the previous year, and sinker profile designation
- Physical Assessment: Injury history (shoulder, elbow, hip, back, knee), functional movement screen results (toe touch, deep squat, wall slide, hip flexor, internal rotation)
- Training Equipment: Available equipment including radar gun, plyo balls, wrist weights, J-bands, shoulder tube, mini bands, kettlebells, and mini trampoline
- Season Planning: Training goals, current season status, pitcher role (starter/reliever), rotation schedule, weekly game schedule, two-way player game schedule (for position play days), recent throwing activity, rest preferences, and program start/report dates
- Health Confirmations: Confirmation of physical maturity for certain exercises and confirmation of being healthy to train
Training Data:
- Workout logs, throwing program completion, nutrition tracking entries, and performance metrics you record in the app
- Progress photos (if you choose to upload them)
- Notes and comments you add to your training logs
Mechanics Analysis Data (Optional Feature):
If you use our Mechanics Analyzer feature, we collect:
- Video Content: Pitching videos you upload for analysis (side view and behind view). Videos are processed by our analysis service and may be temporarily stored during processing.
- Analysis Results: AI-generated assessments of your pitching mechanics, including scores for hip-shoulder separation, arm timing, drift amount, and drift timing, along with personalized recommendations.
- Video Thumbnails: Preview images generated from your uploaded videos.
Location Data:
With your permission, we may collect your approximate location to provide weather-based throwing window recommendations. Location data is used solely for this purpose and is not stored on our servers.
Health & Fitness Data:
If you enable Apple Health integration, we may read and write the following data types with your explicit permission:
- Body Measurements: Weight and body fat percentage
- Workout Data: Strength training sessions and throwing workouts
Apple Health data is only synced with your explicit opt-in and can be disabled at any time in the app settings.
Communications:
- If you contact us directly, we may receive additional information such as your name, email address, and the contents of your message
Subscriptions & Purchases:
Paid subscriptions are processed by Apple (and, where applicable, other app stores). We do not receive or store your full payment card number. We use RevenueCat, a subscription management service, to verify your subscription status and tie purchases to your app account. RevenueCat may receive an app-specific identifier and purchase history metadata needed to provide access to paid features.
Information Collected Automatically:
- Device Information: We collect information about the device you use to access the Service, including device type, operating system, and unique device identifiers.
- Usage Data: We collect information about how you use the Service, such as features accessed, time spent in the app, and interaction patterns.
- Log Data: Our servers and cloud providers automatically record information when you use the Service, including your IP address, browser type, and access times.
- Website Analytics: Our website uses Google Analytics (Google Tag Manager / gtag) to understand traffic and how visitors use our pages (for example, which pages are viewed). This may include approximate location derived from IP address, device/browser type, and on-site behavior. You can learn about Google’s practices and opt-out options via Google’s documentation and browser add-ons.
- Crash & Error Reports: We use Sentry to collect crash reports and error data to improve app stability. This may include device information, app state at the time of the error, and stack traces. No personal training data is included in these reports.
- Push Notification Tokens: If you enable notifications, we collect your device push token to deliver workout reminders, check-in prompts, and analysis completion alerts.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- Personalize your experience and deliver customized training recommendations
- Process and track your training progress and performance analytics
- Communicate with you about updates, features, and support
- Monitor and analyze usage trends to improve the Service
- Detect, prevent, and address technical issues and security threats
- Comply with legal obligations
- Validate and manage subscriptions and restore purchases
Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information for money. We may share your information in the following circumstances:
- Service Providers: We use vendors who process data on our behalf. Depending on the features you use, this may include:
- Google (Firebase / Google Cloud): authentication, cloud database, and related infrastructure for the app and backend services
- RevenueCat: subscription status, entitlements, and purchase restoration
- Sentry: crash and error reporting
- Google Analytics: website usage analytics
- Apple: Sign in with Apple, App Store subscription processing, and Apple Health if you enable it
- Mechanics Analysis Processing: Videos you submit for mechanics analysis are processed on servers we operate or contract for this purpose; outputs are stored in your account as described above.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or in response to valid legal requests.
- Business Transfers: If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
- With Your Consent: We may share information with your consent or at your direction.
Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may delete your account from within the app (for example, through account settings where available) or by contacting us; we will delete or anonymize your personal information subject to legal retention requirements and reasonable backup cycles. We may retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as security and fraud prevention.
Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information:
- Access: You can request access to the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction: You can update much of your profile information directly in the app, or request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Deletion: You can request that we delete your personal information, including by using in-app account deletion where offered.
- Export: Where the app provides an export feature (such as exporting training logs), you may use it to obtain a copy of certain data. You may also contact us to request a copy of your information where applicable law requires.
- Opt-out: You can opt out of promotional communications by following the unsubscribe instructions in those messages.
- Notifications & Health: You can disable push notifications in your device settings and manage Apple Health permissions in the Health app and in Veloforge settings.
U.S. State Privacy Rights
If you are a resident of California or another U.S. state with a comprehensive privacy law, you may have additional rights (such as the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and to opt out of certain types of sharing). We do not “sell” personal information as that term is commonly defined in state privacy laws. To exercise rights that apply to you, contact us using the email below. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
International Users
We are based in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States or other countries where we or our service providers operate. If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you may have additional rights under applicable data protection laws; contact us to inquire.
Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete such information.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
